Inside Out Club on the weekend is for children ages 3-12 and is a fun and easy way to get your family involved. We’ve done the planning for you. All you need to do is show up.
Inside Out Club weekend events bring families together to learn and give back to the community. They occur multiple times a month for one to two hours at a time and educate families on community issues and the nonprofits addressing those issues. These events will teach your kids ways they can give back, broaden their perspectives, and best of all requires no planning or researching on your part!
“Our first experience in attending a Kids Crew event was for Blessings in a Backpack. After watching the video presentation, the Blessings in a Backpack representative asked the group of children participating what they had learned from the video. When my son Ryan raised his hand, I apprehensively wondered what he would say. I was pleasantly surprised when Ryan responded “I learned to be thankful for what I have”. My family has since participated in as many events that the Kids Crew has had that we were able to attend. I am thankful for the Kids Crew Events and the opportunity for growth it has on my family.” – Michele Morgan
Examples of a couple of our past events –
Learning About Celebrate Differences: Celebrate Differences provides programming for individuals with disabilities and their families. At this event the kids went through five exercises to try to understand how it feels to have different disabilities (head phones to mirror a hearing disability, goggles that were blurry for vision impairment, buttoning a shirt while wearing gloves to show a physical disability, and a test in German to understand cognitive disabilities.
Crayon Drive for SCARCE: School & Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education (SCARCE). Their mission is to inspire people, through education, to preserve and care for the Earth’s natural resources. Many of their programs focus on recycling. One of the items they recycle are crayons. With donated broken pieces of crayons from schools and residents they make “Super Crayons.” The kids learned about SCARCE and collected over 50 pounds of crayons.
What do these programs cost?
We charge $7 per child to cover supplies and coordination of these events.
