Show your kids the power of kindness by making scarves and placemats for the homeless!

At this hands-on Inside Out Club event for families, we’ll make the scarves and placemats for Hesed House, an Aurora-based shelter and transitional-housing provider that strives to lift people out of homelessness.

Families who volunteer will leave feeling warm and fuzzy after helping make the winter a little warmer for our neighbors in need.

What you need to bring

We’ll provide the fabric and crafting supplies to make the scarves and placemats. Please just bring your family.

We’ll meet at the Fry Family YMCA in the Y Hangout on Sunday, November 19, at 2 p.m. to create the scarves and placemats, and learn how homelessness affects people near us.

There is no cost to register, but we’d appreciate a donation of $5 per person to cover the cost of the event and support our mission. Please click HERE to donate and include the name of the weekend event in the comments field. You may also make a donation at the door to the volunteer leading the program.

We buy supplies according to the number that register. As, such we need you to register to save your spots.   We expect that if you register you will attend. If something arises, please take the time to go in and update your registration so that we have an accurate head count, or you can email rita@isupportcommunity.org to let us know you cannot make it. Thank you.

Age guidelines / Parent participation

Inside Out Club weekend events are designed for children ages 3-12 and their parents. Older children are welcome to participate as volunteer/mentors for the younger kids. These are family events, not drop off. If you have questions about these guidelines, please contact Rita at rita@isupportcommunity.org.

About the club

I Support Community’s Inside Out Club is on a mission to develop kids with character inside and out: Kids who work well together, include others, keep trying if they fail, can imagine what it’s like to be someone else, know themselves inside and out, are curious, thankful and kind, and support the community. Can you imagine if every child grew up believing and living their lives this way?

Our vision is individuals and families empowered through strength of character and volunteerism to live fuller lives for generations to come. We believe the more children and families that participate in the Inside Out Club, over time, we will make this vision come true. Thank you for being a part of it!

The Inside Out Club (https://www.isupportcommunity.org/inside-out-club/) is on the weekends, in schools and @home (online). We offer it free of cost so that everyone can participate regardless of their financial situation. If you’d like to make a donation, please click here. (https://www.isupportcommunity.org/donate/).
