Hats and cards for Phil's Friends Cover Image

Let’s brighten the day of a cancer patient! At this hands-on Inside Out Club event, families will make fleece hats and handmade cards with positive messages of hope.

This event benefits Phil’s Friends, a nonprofit that provides support to those affected by cancer. The cards will be mailed to patients fighting cancer, and the fleece hats will be given to provide comfort to people undergoing chemotherapy.

Making fleece hats and cards filled with hope to comfort the sick teaches kids empathy, kindness and so much more.

What you need to bring

We’ll provide the fabric and crafting supplies to make the hats and cards. Just bring your family and be ready to make a difference in people’s lives.

We’ll meet at Naperville Bank & Trust in the community room (2nd floor) on Saturday, December 2, at 11 a.m. to make the hats and cards and learn about even kids can care for the sick in our community.

There is no cost to register, but we’d appreciate a donation of $5 per person to cover the cost of the event and support our mission. Please click HERE to donate and include the name of the weekend event in the comments field. You may also make a donation at the door to the volunteer leading the program.

We buy supplies according to the number that register. As, such we need you to register to save your spots.   We expect that if you register you will attend. If something arises, please take the time to go in and update your registration so that we have an accurate head count, or you can email rita@isupportcommunity.org to let us know you cannot make it. Inside Out Club weekend events are designed for children ages 3-12 and their parents. About the club

I Support Community’s Inside Out Club is on a mission to develop kids with character inside and out: Kids who work well together, include others, keep trying if they fail, can imagine what it’s like to be someone else, know themselves inside and out, are curious, thankful and kind, and support the community. Can you imagine if every child grew up believing and living their lives this way?

Our vision is individuals and families empowered through strength of character and volunteerism to live fuller lives for generations to come. We believe the more children and families that participate in the Inside Out Club, over time, we will make this vision come true. Thank you for being a part of it!

The Inside Out Club (https://www.isupportcommunity.org/inside-out-club/) is on the weekends, in schools and @home (online). We offer it free of cost so that everyone can participate regardless of their financial situation. If you’d like to make a donation, please click here. (https://www.isupportcommunity.org/donate/).
