Practice empathy alongside your child while supporting those in need.
DuPage Pads is on a mission to end homelessness in DuPage County. One of the many ways that DuPage Pads help their clients is to give them bikes. They have shared with us that they do not have enough bike locks or lights. Did you know that if you ride a bike at night, you can get a ticket? We want to make sure everyone is safe on their bikes and can keep their bikes safe by locking them up.
At this exciting event we will:
- learn about homelessness in our community and how DuPage Pads is helping the homeless
- gift wrap bike locks and lights for children and adult
- make cards to go with our gifts
- decorate placemats for DuPage Pads’ overnight shelter sites
As we approach bike season, help us make it safe and fun for everyone!
Location & Timing
|This event will be hosted by our community partner, the DuPage Children’s Museum, and will take place in their Art Studio.

What to Bring
We will provide the wrapping paper, placemats, tape, scissors, marker, crayons and 20 sets of lights.
If you can, purchase and bring a bike lock and/or more lights. You can also ask friends and family to donate one for you to bring and wrap. THe more we collect, the more people we can help! Need some ideas? Click HERE for a good light choice and HERE for a lock.
Space is limited. You must register to reserve your spot(s). The cost is $7 per child (adults are free), which covers the cost of supplies, time and organization involved in planning and executing the event.
You can enjoy the Museum at no additional cost for 30 minutes before the event. If you’d like to extend your fun and come even earlier, you will need to pay the Museum entrance fee unless you are already a member.

Age guidelines / Parent participation
Inside Out Club weekend events are designed for children ages 3-12 and their parents. Older children are welcome to participate as volunteer/mentors for the younger kids. About the club
I Support Community’s Inside Out Club is on a mission to develop kids with character inside and out: Kids that work well together, include others, keep trying if they fail, can imagine what it’s like to be someone else, know themselves inside and out, are curious, thankful and kind, and support the community. Can you imagine if every child grew up believing and living their lives this way?
Our vision is a community filled with empathetic and engaged community contributors for generations to come. We believe the more children and families that participate in the Inside Out Club, over time, will make this vision come true. Thank you for being a part of it! The Inside Out Club (https://www.isupportcommunity.org/inside-out-club/) is on the weekends, in schools and online.
We are a not for profit funded through grants, fundraising events, corporate sponsorship and individual donations. If you’d like to make a donation, please click here.
