Back to school will be here before we know it. Please help us make that transition better for families in our community. We’re hosting a school supply drive and volunteer activity with People’s Resource Center. Between July 1st and the 22nd, please drop off school supplies to bins at any of the Naperville Bank & Trust Locations in Naperville (Fort Hill Road, Washington & Hobson).
Join the I Support Community Charity Club in delivering the supplies to the People’s Resource Center in Wheaton and participate in a volunteer activity onsite at their Wheaton Location.
This event is limited to 30 people (kids and parents) and is free. You must register to reserve your spot. Click HERE to register.
This event is part of the I Support Community’s youth education programming focused on teaching children character skills through lessons on the community and providing activities to use those skills. At this event our goal is for the kids to learn how the People’s Resource Center helps community members and how they’ve helped by collecting school supplies. We’ll ask kids to imagine what it might be like to be in the shoes of someone needing those supplies and how it’d feel to receive help. It’s a way to teach empathy and kindness to kids.
The list of needed supplies is below:
•Crayons – 8 count and 24 count
•Dry erase markers
•Loose leaf paper
•Markers – thin and broad size
•Spiral notebooks – wide and college ruled
