On Wednesday July 11, 2012, I attended a networking breakfast that I went to every month.  I had no idea that this meeting would change my life.  The speakers that day showed a video of a local homeless shelter, the Hesed House that was so powerful in brought tears to my eyes.  It made me want to act, to do something to help those people.  As I was leaving the breakfast an idea came to me: wouldn’t it be amazing if every non-profit could share their story that way and if that video could be seen everywhere by everyone.  At that moment I Support Community was born. 

Since that time, I have been learning more than I ever imagined about social media, websites and marketing. I have met so many incredible people whose passion for their organization's cause is evident in everything they do.  It is truly amazing how many wonderful organziations are in our community.  I am so excited to share them with you through I Support Community.   I have to give thanks to my founding board members, and the many others who have helped and supported me in this new adventure! 

I am working to build I Support Community in my community; focussing on nonprofits within 30 to 40 miles of Naperville.  I hope someday to find others like me that want to build I Support Community where they live.  Eventually, it'd be amazing to have I Support Community is in every community in the country providing a trusted resource for those that wish to give back.
